My name is Lisa Taylor, this is me during my M.A in Art practice at Glyndwr University in North Wales. I spent 6 years training there, firstly completing my B.A Hon's degree in applied art and then continuing onto a M.A, part time over 2 years. During my time there I developed my jewellery making skills and spent a lot of time experimenting with textile process that could be incorporated into jewellery. One thing I love to do is add colour to my work. I started working with anodised aluminium as this medium enabled me to experiment with colour, print and also hand dyeing. I developed my new collection which combines elements of hand dyed and printed aluminium with sterling silver.
In addition to my art and design training at Glyndwr, I also completed a years teacher training, gaining a PGCE qualification. This led me to set up 'The Cheshire School of Jewellery' in June 2019. I currently teach jewellery making workshops and courses there and it also serves as my workspace for creating jewellery.
During the lockdown of 2020, I had to postpone teaching which then gave me the opportunity to work on my own designs and 'The Cheshire Jewellery Company' was born.
